I reached out to Nicky sometime in late 2024, trying to figure out what doing something together could look like. It stayed in limbo for a while, back and forth, never quite landing. Then the show at Warsaw came up and I reached out again, He sent me a text with a time to be there. I got there early, around one, trailer already open, gear spilling out, everyone in that half-arrived state, waiting to be let inside. After we made it in and it was time for soundcheck I realized I forgot my earplugs it was loud enough to rearrange the room, just that sharp, lingering ring settling in and staying there like it had nowhere else to go.
After, we had a quick stop at a record store for something they had to handle, then I broke off, five p.m. and realizing I hadn’t eaten since the day before. Back home, food first, then straight into mixing chemicals, prepping to develop film later. Sat with Molly for a while and chatted about the photo stuff, letting the noise dull just enough before heading back out.
